Synopsis
Left orphaned after the death of her aunt, 16-year-old high school girl Momiji Yamano seeks out her anonymous benefactor, yakuza boss Manzo Sasamoto. She discovers that Manzo has unexpectedly died, and due to a chaotic paperwork mix-up involving his will, Momiji accidentally becomes legally registered as Manzo's widow and the new head of the Sasanishiki yakuza family. Furthermore, Manzo's 28-year-old common-law wife, Midori, is mistakenly registered as Momiji's adopted daughter. The series follows this bizarre mother-daughter duo as they navigate the Japanese underworld through a lens of slapstick comedy.
